Food Friday: Fried Twinky

Fried Twinky

I know it sounds weird right, but it works and it’s good. This is one of Minh’s newest desserts and it’s another home-run, trust me.  I don’t know how good of a cook you are but you might be able to make this at home or go to Barret’s and try it for yourself.

What’s on it

The base red sauce is a strawberry sauce and then a fried twinky and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream.


I was told I have under 5 minutes to photograph the dessert because I guess the hot twinky will start melting the ice cream and whipped cream. I just want to say this dessert is really good but I couldn’t finish it by myself.  The twinky is crispy with a gooey center and the strawberry sauce complemented it nicely. I’m not going to say how different strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream with whipped cream is because it’s not. The dessert as a whole works because the twinky really makes it. Calling comfort food probably describes it best
